With new arrivals, angles and a quality card, this week’s TNA Impact was an unpredictable experience. Although most of it is planning for the future, the additions of Angelina Love, Willow, Sanada, Tigre Uno and Bobby Lashley add much more beef to the TNA roster and freshen up the card.
Check out this week’s TNA Power Rankings to see who made it out of Lockdown not only in one piece, but who managed to thrive amid the anarchy.
Honorable Mention: Abyss: Although his new costume is an utter joke, the fact that his feud with Eric Young appears to be finding another gear, Abyss
5: Magnus: With Abyss now by his side, Magnus may be tougher than ever. However, Abyss will be chained to Eric Young next week for Magnus’ return back with Samoa Joe. Can Magnus defeat Joe again and keep the TNA World Heavyweight title? Regardless, his run has been one that has helped legitimize him as a heel. While he’s still a few good matches away from getting the type of credibility he needs moving forward, holding the title has definitely helped push him in the right direction.
4: Bully Ray: Damn, did he take a beating from Team Dixie on Impact this week. But he gave one back as well. While it’s doubtful he’ll ever be as over as he was when he was the leader of the Aces and Eights, a face run for Bully Ray could help deepen the mid-card. A battle with Bobby Roode as well would bolster the in-ring product and add another solid feud to a company in desperate need of them.
3: Willow: This character is super weird, but he’s cool too. The awesome ring music and that insane laugh certainly help as well. The added aggression from Hardy in the role is also refreshing. Simply put, although it may be too early to tell, Willow may not be as bad a character as many originally thought.
2: MVP: Signing Bobby Lashley was cool enough, but giving Samoa Joe a rematch next week on Impact made MVP’s first week at the helm of Impact Wrestling an eventful one. Quick witted on the mic and still able to entertain in-ring, MVP’s value to the company right now is immense. Like a breath of fresh air, MVP has made TNA much more entertaining than it was before.
1: Samoa Joe: Still TNA’s #1 contender for the World Heavyweight title, Joe gets another opportunity at gold next week on Impact. With Abyss chained to Eric Young for the entire match, this may be Joe’s best chance to regain TNA’s most coveted belt.
