A hefty card with plenty of build up for Wrestlemania highlighted another solid RAW on the road to the company’s most important pay per view. The announcement of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and the Daniel Bryan/Triple H match make Wrestlemania 30 an even better event, but is it enough to make it a once in a lifetime show?
Check out this week’s RAW Power Rankings to see who’s driving down the road to Wrestlemania their own way and who’s just taking over the show.
Honorable Mention: The Undertaker: Although his antics usually take up more time than they should, it’s going to be great to see The Dead Man take on a stiff and athletic Brock Lesnar. Could this be the year the streak comes to an end? Either way, Paul Heyman will find a way to make this bout extra interesting.
5: John Cena: With Hulk Hogan by his side and his win over Erick Rowan of the Wyatt Family, Cena got more cheers than jeers this week on RAW. While his possible matchup with Bray Wyatt benefits his opponent more than it does him, Cena continues to stay an important fixture in the WWE Universe.
4: The Wyatt Family: Continuing their feud with John Cena, Bray Wyatt cut some more deliciously evil promo on both Cena and Hulk Hogan this week on RAW. While the group hasn’t been on the winning side as often as they’d like lately, a good showing against Cena will cement their spot in the company for a good while. Simply put, Harper and Rowan may be the most unique tag team in the company and Wyatt has the makings of this generation’s Jake “The Snake†Roberts. If you don’t like what these guys do, you’re watching the wrong show.
3: Jimmy and Jey Uso: The recently-crowned WWE Tag Team Champions made quick work of Curtis Axel and Ryback this week on RAW. While the crowd seems to love them and they work hard in the ring, they need a real feud to capitalize on their push. While they could get into a good scrap with The New Age Outlaws, they may need a different type of opponent if they want to be remembered as an exceptional team.
2: The Shield: A big win against a world class team in Goldust and Cody Rhodes this week on RAW, The Shield regained some momentum after a shoddy appearance last week. Are they on the same page? How much time does this fearsome threesome have together? Regardless of what happens, it appears it’ll all come to a head at Wrestlemania, especially with no matchup announced for the group just yet.
1: Daniel Bryan: He took over RAW for a good 15 minutes. It was easily the best moment of this week’s show. Finally getting his big match with Triple H, Bryan even managed to add a stipulation that could allow him entry into the WWE World Title match at Wrestlemania. Add in another excellent match- a tag encounter with The Big Show vs. Batista and WWE World Champion Randy Orton this week on RAW- and it looks like the Yes Movement is in full effect.
