TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings: Magnus Goes La Parka on EY

The end of this past week’s Impact was a telling one, as Magnus made sure that new TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young knew their matchup at Sacrifice wasn’t going to be a walk in the park.

With a handful of other feuds developing, this week’s Impact had a lengthy card and just enough promo to tease Sacrifice.

Check out this week’s TNA Impact Wrestling Rankings to see who’s thriving in the wake of a new champion and the ongoing MVP era.

Honorable Mention: Kurt Angle: His first match in months, Angle destroyed Rockstar Spud. While chances are that he won’t be TNA Champ any time soon, his angle with Ethan Carter III will be a good one in the ring.

5: Bobby Lashley: The former ECW Champion sure had some spring in his step this eek against the uber athletic Kenny King. These two could have an excellent mid-card feud if given an opportunity. If Lashley gets some mic time and is allowed to do more than Spear King, their bouts can be a ton of fun.

4: MVP: Those who followed him in Japan knew that MVP still has plenty of gas in his tank, but his math with Austin Aries this past week on Impact proved MVP can go. Much like Angle, a title run is not in the cards for MVP, but that doesn’t mean he can’t have a vital role in the future of the company.

3: Abyss: His departure from Magnus Enterprises is the best thing for him. Still the TNA Television Champion, Abyss needs a bigger role, one where he can add some value to both that never-shown title and to his role as a Monster. Able to do so much more, the time is now for Abyss to get a push that cements him towards the top portion of the card.

2: Magnus: It’s obvious Magnus was pissed this week and his match with Abyss was one that proves he wants another shot at the title he lost.Still one of the key members of a much-altered TNA roster, Magnus has to prove now that he doesn’t need a belt around his waist in order to get the attention of fans.

1: Eric Young: The new TNA World Heavyweight Champion got his rear handed to him thanks to a steel chair from Magnus, but he’s still the champ. In a company in desperate need of fresh matchups and feuds, Young can be a major face in a reinvigorated TNA.
