Hell’s Kitchen: More Anton’s Ego

Pigs are flying and Scott’s a human punching bag in a brand new episode of “Hell’s Kitchen.”

This episode’s challenge was a two-parter. The first part the chefs had to put cards with the names of pork cuts on the right part of a plastic pig that Ramsay had come down from the ceiling. “Pigs can fly, but only in Hell’s Kitchen” Ramsay said of the pigs. Once each chefs thinks they got the cut right they had to run back and ring their triangle. Both teams did well but each got two wrong. These cuts are pretty obvious like how can someone confuse trotter for ham hock? The Blue team fixed their errors first.

For winning the first part The Blue team’s advantage was each chef chose which cut to use and who their Red Team opponent would be. The choices were Anton vs. Melanie (shoulder), Richard vs. Rochelle (tenderloin), Scott vs. Kashia (cheek), Gabriel vs. Joy (spareribs) and Jason Sandra (belly.)

Ramsay calling Anton’s dish a “dog’s dinner” was right. It looked like something in a dog food commercial. Melanie beat him easily based on presentation. The tasting started 2-0 Red and then it was tied. Once again, it came down to the final dish. The Blue team finally won the challenge when Scott’s ambitious pork cheek ravioli beat out Kashia’s butter cream, zucchini and squash stew.

Of course, Joy could’ve swept the challenge for the Red if her spareribs were cooked a little longer.

Their reward was indoor skydiving. Not much needs to be said here except they finally had fun. They did get one more surprise at the dooms: top of the line Vitamix blenders. Getting a $600 blender is a huge deal to any chef.

The Red team, on the other hand, spent the day cracking, shelling and making peanut butter. At least they used that time to have a chat with Sous Chef Andi. All Rochelle wanted to know was if Andi was married and had kids. It was obvious Rochelle took that to heart because she wants to get married and have kids, but being a head chef and a parent is super hard.

In the Blue Scott wanted to help but nobody wanted it. Jason shooed him from the risotto and Anton didn’t want him on the scallops. Anton even brought up nine scallops instead of ten for two portions. He even blamed it on Scott. He would later overcook halibut and blame it on Scott. Scott was nothing more than a punching bag for Anton. That was the straw that broke Ramsay’s back. He put all of them in the back room and told them to sort things out. It worked for a while until Gabriel brought up cold mushrooms. Anton overcooked a salmon after Ramsay said it better not be.

On the Red team, Sandra got things going by having one of her lobster tails fall apart. This is after making lobster tail almost every night. Kashia did one of the most idiotic things any chef can do; she cooked her spaghetti on a stove where the gas was off. She even wondered why it wasn’t getting hot. The biggest problem for them that night was Sandra not communicating with anybody. Joy and Melanie were tired of her, especially when Sandra put her fish up when Melanie did not have her beef Wellington ready. Sandra even overcooked a salmon.

There was no winning team that night. Anton, Scott, Sandra and Rochelle were put up with Ramsay putting Anton and Scott on the Red and Sandra and Rochelle on the Blue.

Ramsay pulling out another drastic measures card. It might be a good idea or it could backfire on him. Anton has really lost some of the spark he had at the beginning of the show. Him blaming Scott is just finding excuses for his downfalls. He needs to go home ASAP.
