A cool into segment this week on Impact led to a nifty mini-tournament for a shot at Eric Young’s TNA title.
Add in another Knux vignette and the continued drama between Ethan Carter III and Kurt Angle and a new “ally” for Magnus, as well as an appearance from new Knockout Champion Angelina Love and this week’s Impact didn’t let anyone down following Sacrifice.
Check out this week’s TNA Impact Wrestling Coverage to see who made it out of Sacrifice and Impact with their titles and plenty of momentum.
Honorable Mention: Kurt Angle: Damn is Angle pissed. He’s ready to end Ethan Carter III’s undefeated streak. If Rockstar Spud of Aunt Dixie don’t get involved, he may just do it.
5: Abyss: A Chokeslam on Magnus and a huge pop from the fans this week was a nice way for Abyss to move on after ending his relationship with former TNA Champion Magnus. Back to his “Monster†self, Abyss appears focused on making sure Magnus has his hands full for a while. With the fans support and Janice ready at a moments notice, Abyss is ready to reclaim the plethora of fans he lost during his Joseph Park days.
4: Ethan Carter III: He’s got Kurt Angle next week on Impact and then we’ll see if all the nonsense was worth it. For all it’s worth, he’s been far more entertaining with Rockstar Spud than anyone else would have thought. Never been pinned or submitted in singles competition, Carter is one of the top young performers in Impact Wrestling today. All her needs is a big win over someone with some credibility and he’s on his way.
3: Bobby Roode: His win over Gunner this week keeps him in World Title contention, but his loss later in the night proves that he’s not a real threat to Eric Young. A mainstay in the company, Roode would do his best in a Kurt Angle Type role, where he’d face younger competition and make them earn their stripes in the ring.
2: Willow: His DQ win over James Storm wasn’t the important part of his performance this week. Continuing his reign of aggressive dominance, Willow is such a different character than Jeff Hardy, but close enough to keep his loyal fans happy. With a ton of charisma, all Willow needs is the right push. Now that he’s avenged his alter-ego’s issues with Rockstar Spud and Ethan Carter III, maybe he’ll get in the TNA title picture.
1: Eric Young: It’s like a breath of fresh air to see Young defend the World Title so often, but that’s just how he rolls. A win over Bobby Roode proved again that Young is the man in the company for now- as long as fans continue to speak their mind, he’ll have the title around his waist for a while.
