Unity #8 Preview: Three’s Not Enough

“Unity” is Valiant’s answer to “The Avengers”/”Justice League.” Just like these two superhero groups, the reader has to read different issues of the different series in order to know what’s going on. One of the newest ones, “Unity #8,” continues this storyline. Unfortunately, the preview pages are a major letdown to fans.

In this issue, Unity is going after the armor hunters. It is up to three members of Unity, Ninjak, Eternal Warrior and Livewire, to save the Earth.

The preview is an underwhelming three pages. Here it’s just one big page of people that said they saw something and then two pages of the main lead getting attacked by a zombie. Not much in the way of excitement or interest.

The art does not do any better job of building hype than the story. It looks more like it was made for the preview and nothing else. There are some high spots. The main lead is drawn nicely and the zombie is pretty sweet looking. Other than that, not much that stands out.

The preview for “Unity #8” does not do justice to the series. It is way too short for a preview, the story in the pages does not cause any kind of hype, and the art is a letdown considering Valiant’s standards. The comic may be brilliant, but the preview shoes the opposite.
