WWE Creative’s ridiculous storyline writing didn’t destroy this week’s RAW, but it sure did hurt. Why Creative would turn the Bryan/Kane feud into “See No Evil 2†is a joke. Regardless, the two continue to deliver in the ring and with a lack of decent challengers to Bryan’s WWE World Heavyweight title, it’ll have to do for now.
Check out this week’s RAW Power Rankings to see who made it out of Extreme Rules in one piece and is ready for more.
Honorable Mention: Antonio Cesaro: Although he got his match thrown out against RVD, Cesaro was dominant against a living legend. With Paul Heyman by his side, the more aggressive Cesaro is holding his own against everyone and anyone who steps in the ring with him. Expect a singles title around his waist very soon.
5: Sheamus: He’s probably not anyone’s first choice to be the new United States Champion, but after winning the 20-man Battle Royal this week on RAW, Sheamus is wearing the strap. After languishing in the mid-card since his return, Sheamus has asserted himself right in the middle of things. Who will be his first challenger?
4: The Shield: Don’t let Dean Ambrose’s U.S. Title loss this week on RAW fool you, The Shield is not falling apart. Needing time to develop as a team, the strap belonged more around the waist of a singles performer who can defend it with more regularity. With Evolution and The Wyatt Family on their backs now, The Shield’s battles are just beginning.
3: The Wyatt Family: Bray Wyatt continues to cut top notch promo that the smarks love. Their budding, but continued rivalry with The Shield will do nothing but good for both teams. Waytt’s continued feud with John Cena is also another important key to the mergence of the Family’s leader. Bottom line, these guys get better every week.
2: Wade Barrett: Talk about a career turn around. After making him an annoying sideshow character for months, Barrett is now the cool heel. His win over Big E. Langston this week on RAW keeps the Intercontinental title around his waist- it’s not going anywhere for the foreseeable future.
1: Daniel Bryan: You can’t hate on Bryan because WWE Creative has turned his angle with Kane into a B-movie. With his win over Alberto Del Rio this week, Bryan continues to rack up clean wins over former WWE Champions. At this point, they are like candy to him.
