Four non-eventful matches, Tyler Breeze’s music video, the reformation of the BFFs and a Bo Dallas montage highlighted a weak episode of NXT that can best be described as filler. With little storyline development and little to get excited about, the first show after Payback left fans cheated.
Although there was four matches, none of them were awe-inspiring. A chance to develop a new tag team and to continue the build-up of Charlotte Flair, Adrian Neville and Mojo Rawley, most of the show was bathroom break worthy.
Matches:
Mojo Rawley vs. Aiden English: Rawley managed to deflect all of English’s technical offense and won with the Hyper Drive and barely any effort. At this point, these squash matches need to stop and Rawley needs to really perform. Enough is enough.
NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair w/Sasha Banks vs. Bayley: Flair was in control throughout the match, but Bailey fought back with strikes and even managed to fend off Banks on the outside. But just when it appeared Bailey was in complete control, Summer Rae interfered (even though she distracted both competitors) allowing Flair to hit her Flipping Sitting Nackbreaker, The Hail to the Queen for the win. After the bell, Flair, Banks and Rae beat on Bailey until Divas Champion Paige and Emma made the save.
Tye Dillinger and Jason Jordan vs. Stewart Cumberland and Phillip Ghouljar: A decent match that saw Jordan and Dillinger toy with their opponents more than anything else. After a Dillinger Super Kick, Jordan got the win with the Angle Slam.
Justin Gabriel vs. NXT Champion Adrian Neville: A solid 11-minute match, both Neville and Gabriel showcased their awesome repertoire of moves. Although Gabriel scored a few near-falls, Neville was never a move or two away from regaining control. After Gabriel missed the 450, Neville countered with a Dropkick in the corner and followed it up with the Red Arrow for the win.
