Now Rob Van Dam is on NXT?
While it’s hard to argue with five matches in less than an hour, the fact that the WWE continues to water down NXT with either over the hill WWE Superstars or guys that are in need of a push, instead of youngsters, is killing the product. Although most of the matches this week did not feature main roster WWE superstars, the Main Event was a weak one that continues to prove that who ever is writing NXT is scared to give more youngsters a shot.
Nothing against Tyson Kidd, but put the guy on Main Event or Superstars at this point. Not winning the NXT title from Adrian Neville was the last straw. He has no place on the show. The fact that Rob Van Dam appears to be in for the same fate is also a scary thought- that this cycle is set to repeat itself, with different faces.
Matches:
Sasha Banks w/NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and Summer Rae vs. Alexa Bliss: Banks worked over Bliss with strikes and a cool Mexican Surfboard early in the match. However, as the match went on, Flair and Rae bickered on the outside and caused Banks to lose her focus at times. After another distraction, Banks had her back turned and got Rolled-up by Bliss for the surprising win.
Mojo Rawley vs. Garrett Dylan: Rawley actually sold a bit as Dylan beat on him early in the match. However, Rawley made his typical comeback and won with the Hyperdrive.
The Vaudevillians: Aiden English and Simon Gotch vs. Angelo Dawkins and Travis Tyler : Gotch hit Tyler with a flipping Fireman’s Carry and English finished him off the the second-rope Senton Bomb.
Tyler Breeze vs. Calisto: This match went a bit longer than it should have, but both competitors showed a lot- Calisto in the form of his athleticism and Breeze in his ground and pound game. After several near-falls, some of which saw Calisto nearly come out victorious, Breeze got the win with the Beauty Shot.
The Ascension: Viktor and Connor vs. Sami Zayn and Tyson Kidd: Zayn was caught in the wrong corner for most of the match. Kidd eventually got pissed and refused to tag in, allowing Konnor and Viktor to hit the fall of man for the win.
