NXT Power Rankings: Get Ready for RVD vs. Neville?

With no Adrian Neville this week on NXT gave Sami Zayn and Tyson Kid an opportunity to take on the Ascension for the NXT Tag Team titles in this week’s Main Event.

If you’re not excited, it’s OK- the Tag Team titles are perhaps the least enthralling straps in NXT. Add in an appearance from Rob Van Dam and it’s the same song and dance from NXT.

Check out this week’s NXT Power Rankings to see what else happened on another mediocre episode of the show.

Honorable Mention: Alexa Bliss: She showed a lot of moxie in her surprising win over Sasha Banks. Even though it had more to do with the problems with the BFFs, Bliss has a ton of potential. Referred to as an adorable pixie by William Regal, there’s definitely a spot for he on the main roster if she continues to develop.

5: Mojo Rawley: Just a few weeks after he was destroyed by Alexander Rusev, Rawley beat newcomer Garrett Dylan on NXT. However, with the same old song and dance and little to make him special other than his abundance of energy, Rawley continues to prove he’s nothing special.

4: The Vaudevillians: These guys are interesting. With a gimmick that could serve as comedic relief at the bottom of the card and English’s respectable skills in the ring, these guys have potential to get over in NXT. While the team probably isn’t WWE ready yet and may never be, they can still fill valuable time on NXT.

3: Tyler Breeze: His win over Calisto wasn’t monumental, but neither was this week’s episode. Coming into his own as a performer with a mean streak, in spite of his gimmick. Ready for his NXT title shot, Breeze needs more time on the mic and in the ring to truly set this title encounter up.

2: Colin Cassady: Sure, his promo this week was amateur and he definitely needs more work on the microphone, but Cassady appears ready for a big push in NXT. With his massive drama and cool finisher, Cassady could be someone who graduates from NXT and moves on to the main roster.

1: Adrian Neville: Although he wasn’t in action this week, Neville appears ready for a match with Rob Van Dam. The fact that WWE brass continues to feed Neville established stars to spar with is a great thing for him moving forward, even if it means viewers are left unsatisfied.
