While MVP, Bobby Lashley and Kenny King’s reign of terror in TNA has been a destructive one, the return of Samoa Joe and the unlikely union of TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young, Bully Ray, Austin Aries and the TNA World Tag Team Champions Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards has created a war that continues to leave wreckage every week. Add in Ethan Carter III, Rockstar Spud and Dixie Carter into the mix and you have some decent warfare that looks to bleed into Slammiversary.
Check out this week’s TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see who else made an impression on a wild and wacky episode of Impact Wrestling.
Honorable Mention: Bram: The former NXT star has made quite an impression in his first few weeks with TNA. Using the Spike DDT to finish off Tigre Uno, Bram won’t win any awards, but it is a step in the right direction for the tough guy. With Magnus yet to adopt Bram’s more aggressive ways, this weeks win should go a way in helping make Magnus’ eventual decision a no-brainer.
5: Ethan Carter III: Aligning himself with MVP for the time being and still entangled in a crazy feud with Bully Ray, EC3 continues to maintain a prominent role on Impact TV. We’d like to see the former NXT star wrestle some more though.
4: Samoa Joe: His return definitely spices things up. Still hungry for a World title shot, how long can Joe stay on Eric Young’s side? Is he destined to join the MVP army?
3: Bully Ray: He’s got six tables to break and he’s already broken one. Can Bully Ray thrive as a top level face and without the TNA World Heavyweight title around his waist? If he continues to work the way he has and shoot the same solid promo he’s known for, all signs point to yes.
2: MVP, Bobby Lashley and Kenny King: This faction is all business right now, decimating every competitor that stands in their way. However, if they can’t take the TNA World Heavyweight title from Eric Young, then all the talk and destruction will be for nothing. At any rate, this makes the next few weeks leading up to Slammiversary very interesting to say the very least.
1: Eric Young: EY continues to take on all comers and even though he hasn’t been able to finish a match the past few weeks without someone getting involved, it doesn’t mean he hasn’t been the best TNA World Heavyweight Champion since Austin Aries.
