What started as a safe reunion show turned into somewhat heated affair as Tony Atlas fired back at his former roommates and “Hacksaw†Jim Duggan. An admitted pain in the ass, Atlas finally had his say, but in the end, the show was more a mashup of the season’s best moments.
From “Mean†Gene Okerlund’s dirty old man tactics to Atlas’ laughs and the budding friendship between Roddy Piper and Duggan, the reunion show was a fun escape back into what was most likely the most entertaining reality show the WWE has ever put together.
To see all the guys together again, recollecting the season of memories was fun. Considering how the show ended, with Pat Patterson’s coming out and the sharing of other sensitive information, this was the way “Legends House†should have ended. Although Atlas’ crappy attitude hurt the feel-good nature of the reunion, it was par for the course considering Atlas’ behavior most of the season.
“I’ll walk through you before I’ll walk around you,†Atlas said, again referring to their infamous Chip-N-Dales incident with Duggan. It looks like some altercations will never be forgotten amongst the guys. Luckily the reunion moderator, WW Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler was able to get the circus to stop and keep these guys on task.
By the end of it all, Lawler posed a question for the Legends, asking if they’d ever do the show again, away from Okerlund, who said it was a once in a lifetime thing, all the other members, including Atlas, agreed that they’d come back. Could this be a sign of things to come? Could the WWE Network have more in store for these guys? Either way you look at it, “Legends House†was a sometimes silly but more often hilarious and even heart-felt look at the other side of professional wrestling that could have been a success on network television, but instead became the first must-watch show on the WWE Network.
