With Kurt Angle in charge and the return of Rhino, this past week’s Impact Wrestling featured a plethora of wrestling and the type of storyline that makes you think there are more interesting changes to come.
Eric Young’s loss to Bobby Lashley takes him out of the TNA World Heavyweight title picture, while Samoa Joe and Bobby Roode appear ready for title shots of their own.
The Knockouts division is packed with drama as well, as Brittany and Madison Rayne continue to feud, while Gail Kim finally beat Angelina Love to take back the title.
With competition in every belt division (yes, every, the TV Title has been taken off the TNA website) and some fresh new matchups, Impact Wrestling again was a better show than this week’s NXT.
Matches:
Triple Threat: TNA Tag Team Champions Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards vs. The Freak and Mike Knox vs. Jessie Godderz and Zema Ion: After The Freak and Knux went to the outside, Richards and Edwards finished off Ion and Godderz with their Launching Superkick Finisher. After the match, they told the world they’re the best tag team in the world. Although The Usos are damn good, The Wolves are on another level entirely.
Street Fight: Bobby Roode vs. Kenny King: These guys fought all over the outside before the bell rang. Once the match finally got underway, King went for his finisher across a steel chair, but Roode hit the RoodeBomb on the chair for the win.
Tables Match: Ethan Carter III w/Rockstar Spud vs. Bully Ray: ECIII surprisingly held his own for most of the match, but when Ray was about to end it with the Powerbomb through the table, Rockstar Spud interfered and the returning Rhyno hit the Gore on Ray. With Ray down, ECIII hit the Chokeslam through the table to win the match.
Knockouts Champion Angelina Love w/ Velvet Sky vs. Gail Kim: Even with the help of Sky, who was thrown out by referee Brian Hebner and a Botox Injection sent her to the outside, Kim fought back and won with the Eat Defeat.
TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley w/MVP vs. Eric Young w/ Bobby Roode: Lashley worked on Young’s knee throughout the match and won with the Powerslam/Spear combo.
