Despite a ton of filler, Monday Night RAW got the job done, teasing every match for Battleground in a way that a stripper manages to get that last dollar bill out of a blue collar working man’s wallet.
Check out this week’s RAW Power Rankings to see who put themselves in a great situation for this weekend’s Battleground pay per view.
Honorable Mention: The Miz: It’s been a long time since this guy’s found his way on the list. His surprise win over United States Champion Sheamus this week on RAW have Miz some much needed momentum in the Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal at Battleground. Although a run with the IC title won’t resurrect his ailing career, it definitely can’t hurt either.
5: Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter: These guys have to been this over since the first few months they were originally paired together. Swagger’s best chance to move up the card, he needs to take down the undefeated Bulgarian Brute or may be stuck in the mid-card forever.
4: Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erik Rowan: Harper and Rowan’s ambush on the WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos sent a clear message. Harper and Rowan are ready to run with the titles and will prove how good they are in what will be an epic two-out-of-three falls match at Battleground. While the crowd is beginning to grow weary of Wyatt’s sermons, but it’s impossible to ignore the impact he had on this week’s episode of RAW. Not many people get to deliver their finisher on Chris Jericho on the ramp, so don’t take Wyatt’s actions lightly. Unlike John Cena, Jericho won’t mind putting over Wyatt, which he desperately needs. But make no mistake, he’ll make Wyatt earn it in the ring.
3: Sting: The announcement that Sting would be a part of “WWE 2K15†should hopefully only be the beginning of his involvement with the company.
2: Roman Reigns: He’s the next big singles star in the company and he continued to prove it with another solid performance on this week’s Monday Night RAW. A different type of personality than Cena, he’s not Superman and doesn’t pretend to be. A man of few words, Reigns
1: John Cena: He’s going to have his hands full, but Cena appears to be the odds-on favorite to hold on to the WWE World Heavyweight title at Battleground. Considering that Randy Orton and Kane have little momentum and Roman Reigns lacks the experience, who else gets to hold the belt?
