A new GM on the way and a new NXT Takeover event announced? This was the episode of the show the world has wanted to see for weeks. With five matches in an hour and the development of several new feuds, this past week’s NXT was more like the first few shows when the brand was originally put on the WWE Network.
That’s the show that people want to see and that is what is best for business.
Matches:
Tag Team Tournament: The Vaudevillians, Aiden English and Simon Gotch vs. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady: After Enzo and Cass cut some fun promo, Gotch and English waisted little time and hit the That’s a Wrap Double Senton for the win. After the match Marc Louis and Sylvester LeForte hit the ring and shaved off a piece of Amore’s trademark beard.
Tyler Breeze vs. Tyson Kidd: Less than a few minutes in, Breeze took his phone and left the match to give Kidd the win via count-out.
NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch: Flair had little trouble with the screaming Lynch, who was outmatched despite some success with strikes. After a few sequences, Flair won with her Flipping Seated Neckbreaker.
Mojo Rawley vs. Steve Cutler: Rawley made quick work of the rookie Cutler with the Hyper Drive, despite the fact that the crowd wanted Cutler to destroy him. After the match, Rawley announced he had “lost his smile.â€
Tag Team Tournament: Adam Rose and Sami Zayn vs. Kalisto and Sin Cara: Talk about a surprise. With near-falls a-plenty, Kalisto and Cara got the win after Cara took out Zayn on the outside and the tiny Kalisto nailed Rose with his variation of the Ultimo Dragon Reverse DDT. With Rose down, Cara finished him off with the Senton Bomb.
