Hell’s Kitchen Coverage: Peace JR

It’s nothing but fouls and missed hoops in yet another grueling episode of “Hell’s Kitchen.” The “LA Sparks” and Chris Bosh need to teach these how to properly get a shot in

At the end of the last episode we saw Jessica faint. Here at the start she comes back from the hospital and says that she was just dehydrated. That’s a relief. Seeing anyone being forced to leave a competition for any kind of medical reason is always terrible.

The next morning the chefs find that there is a culinary school graduation ceremony going on the dining room. Ashley said she went to culinary school for one semester and dropped out. Now she’s competing on “Hell’s Kitchen.”

Of course, Ramsay is the speaker and he did say “Brunch will be served in twenty minutes.” Ah, brunch/breakfast challenges. Not as exciting as dinner service, but we still see the same basic mess ups. Here it was no exception.

Both teams started off strong, but then got a little sidetracked come entrees. Bryant under-seasoned spinach and could not cook an egg Florentine multiple times. Kalen messed up on crepes. Sterling decided to take matters into his own hands and call out orders. He even gave the camera a nice song about how it sounded like to him calling out orders.

The Red finished first and won this challenge. Their reward was lunch at “Atelier Crenn” where they met the only female chef with two Michelin Stars, Dominique Crenn. They also got a ride on an iconic San Francisco trolley. Sade said, “The boys are in their own Alcatraz right now” when they passed Alcatraz prison. How fitting.

The Blue on the other hand had to grind and stuff sausage for both kitchens. The Blue objected to Sterling singing because they felt he was not taking this seriously. He seemed like he was doing the punishment fine; Let the man sing. It might the way he deals a terrible situation.

Steve, Santos and Aaron plotted to get rid of the other guys who they deem to be “dead weight” by having them get kicked out during dinner service. It seemed like their plan worked.

The Blue started off with Steve putting up risotto before Sterling put up his salad. Ramsay told Steve that cold food come up before the hot. Frank was just standing there doing nothing and of course Ramsay said he’s just “standing there like a police officer.” Later, Steve brought up a soupy risotto even after Sterling told him not to. JR would then send up raw pork. It seemed like they got their groove when two members of the “LA Sparks” sent their salmon back because it was overcooked. Santos undercooks his second attempt. JR, Santos, Frank and Fernando got kicked out when JR brought up a raw lamb that was meant for Chris Bosh.

Meanwhile on the Red Kalen rushed to bring up scallops and they were undercooked. Kalen would overcook another batch. Ramsay told Kalen and Roe (who helped) to eat the scallops at the chef’s table. He even told a server to bring them each a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. So, Ramsay’s sense of humor even goes as far as his punishments. He looked at them and said “eat them.” Yes, Sergeant Ramsay. Row would later send up an overcooked Salmon. She also had two more on the way.

Both teams finished dinner service with Ramsay declaring the Red the winners. The Blue chose JR and Steve with Ramsay also wanting to see Frank. JR got eliminated.

This was a decent episode. It looked like Steve, Santos and Aaron’s plot worked in getting JR eliminated. How long this will work is yet to be seen. Of course, there is that high chance that this might backfire and one of them will get eliminated.
