A hefty card with quality wrestling made No Surrender a somewhat enjoyable experience, even if there were far less surprises and storyline developments than expected.
Check out this week’s TNA No Surrender Power Rankings to see who left with the TNA World Heavyweight title and more.
Honorable Mention: Kenny King: It’s easy to hate a bully, but it’s even easier to hate a guy picking on someone with one leg. However Chris Melendez is far from disabled. Although it’s a lower card feud, King could make serious waves in this angle and develop himself as much more than a mid-card big mouth. A former X-Division Champion, King has all the tools needed to thrive.
5: Havok: Can she beat Gail Kim? At her best against larger opponents, Kim is no slouch, just ask Awesome Kong, wherever she is. Regardless, Havok’s win in the #1 contenders match this week at No Surrender should not be overlooked. It may not happen next week, or even next month, but Havok is a future Knockouts Champion.
4: James Storm: With Manik and Sanada by his side, Storm is readying forces for a war. But what kind of war? The only active title Storm has not won in TNA is the X-Division title. Is this his way of letting Joe know he’s preparing to take his title?
3: Samoa Joe: The X-Division Champion had one of the best matches of the night against journeyman Homicide, further establishing his dominance as champion.
2: The Tag Team Division: This TNA Tag Team Championship series has been a blast and a great way to bring Devon and Matt Hardy back into the company. It’s also been a fantastic way to show just how talented Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards are. It’ll be interesting to see where these teams go after the series is over.
1: Bobby Lashley: With his win over Bobby Roode and his recent victory at Bellator, Lashley is one of the most dominant performers of the era. You could argue about it all you want, but simply put, the man is a beast.
