An appearance by NXT’s biggest stars, as well as Jerry Springer and some great promo between John Cena and Paul hetman capped off a RAW that was easily the best episode in weeks and a great way to begin a new season.
With Night of Champions just two weeks away and a lot of the window dressing prepaid, next week could go a long way to teasing what could and should be a decent pay per view.
Matches:
Steel Cage: Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho: A slow, but solid match that got awesome after Jericho dove from the top of the cage on Wyatt. Injured, Jericho couldn’t fight off Wyatt’s advances and after the two battled by the cage doors, Wyatt managed to roll out for the win. After the victory, Wyatt finished off Y2J with the Sister Abigail.
Natalya Neidhart and Rosa Mendez vs. Divas Champion Paige and AJ Lee: Paige was all over Mendez and Lee finished her off with the Black Widow after she tagged herself in.
United States Champion Sheamus vs. Seth Rollins: Another slow match that didn’t even speed-up after Cesaro decided to watch the encounter ringside. After Cesaro distracted Sheamus, Rollins got the win with a Dropkick and a botched Curb Stomp. After the match, Cesaro hit Sheamus with the Neutralizer.
NXT Champion Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn vs. Tyler Breeze and Tyson Kidd: More of a TNA-styled match, all four competitors pushed a fast pace until Neville took over the match and beat Breeze with the Red Arrow.
Los Matadores vs. Goldust and Stardust: The Matadores quickly got finished off via Stardust’s Dark Matter. After the match, the WWE Tag Team Champion Usos attacked Goldie and his little brother.
Titus O’Neil w/Heath Slater vs. Adam Rose: Once Slater was taken out by Rose’s Bunny again, this time with a Super Kick, Rose won with the Party Foul. After the bell, the Bunny hit a Splash from the top rope.
Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns:Â This was another war on the inside and outside of the ring that neither superstar dominated. Both had time to shine and went through signature maneuvers, but it was Reigns who countered RKO and hit the Superman Punch. But before Reigns could finish him off, Kane and Seth Rollins joined the fight and got the match thrown out. Soon enough, the steel cage began to come down and Reigns and Orton were left alone in the cage. With no one left to help him, Orton soon got hit with the Spear from Reigns, but Rollins hit the Splash from the top of the cage, while Kane followed it up with a Chokeslam to take out Reigns. With his hand down on the mat and a chair underneath, Rollins finished Reigns off with the Curb Stomp.
