Quick matches and little story development made this week’s RAW an utter bore. Although many of the show’s young faces had moments that show that they have potential, most of the segments felt more like teases than flat out pleases.
Check out this week’s RAW Power Rankings to see who has the most to gain from a memorable performance at Night of Champions.
Honorable Mention: The Big Show and Mark Henry: These guys have done it all in the WWE and too see them get a second life as a capable tag team is a lot of fun to watch. While they will most likely never contend for the WWE title again, it’s cool that they’ve found a way to be more than serviceable members of the roster and can work with a talented, young team like Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.
5: Nikki Bella: The time spent on Bella’s angle with her sister, Brie, better have a payoff. Otherwise, it’s been just a ton of filler. While a Divas title shot for her could be interesting, especially with AJ Lee in the middle of a feud with Divas Champion Paige, Nikki needs to bring her A-game here.
4: Alexander Rusev: After taking care of Jack Swagger, Rusev has picked a fight with Mark Henry. This could get interesting, but if anything, it’s a decent way to build up Rusev and keep the mid-card full of feuds.
3: Bo Dallas: His new feud with Jack Swagger, like Rusev’s angle with Mark Henry will be a decent one in-ring that will fill up the mid-card. However, Dallas, who has far more charisma than Rusev and isn’t a living gimmick, will benefit far more than Rusev will from working with a veteran.
2: John Cena: He’s got an uphill battle to conquer Brock Lesnar, but Cena seems more focused than ever. Add in the disapproval of Triple H and Cena has even more obstacles in his way. If anything however, it’s a good thing. Cena has made a living out of silencing critics.
1: Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman: You don’t have to be on RAW every week when you have a mouthpiece like Heyman. Already one of the most dominant champions in recent WWE history, Lesnar’s stock is even higher thanks to his association with Paul E. Continuing to set up the next battle between Lesnar and Cena, Heyman is one of the best managers in wrestling history.
