It’s kind of sad. After all this build up for the Japan-bound Bound for Glory, that Impact Wrestling’s go-home show for the event failed to set up the PPV properly. Sure, it was a decent show, but with no challenger for the Tag Team titles and little attention paid to the X-Division, this episode was missing some meat.
Check out this week’s Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see what happened on the go-home show before Bound for Glory 2014.
Honorable Mention: Samuel Shaw: He’s got the look and the persona. Add in Brittany to the mix and his unusual submission finisher and he’s got a damn good shot at winning gold one day in Impact Wrestling.
5: Havok: The new Knockouts Champion isn’t exactly Gail Kim, but she’s dominant in a completely different way. Destroying Taryn Terrell after her match this week, Havok has no problem going out there and establishing a presence. Although we’re not exactly looking forward to Havok’s match with new #1 contender Madison Rayne, it won’t be a terrible encounter either.
4: James Storm: Slowly, but surely, Storm has amassed a pretty damn good mid-card faction. Although there’s no bruiser or tough guy in the group, Storm’s group still has plenty of potential.
3: Ethan Carter III: His beatdown on Rockstar Spud makes it that much easier to hate him and will help turn the micro-sized performer into a likable face.
2: Bobby Lashley: He’s still a dominant machine, but his allegiance with MVP and Kenny King seems to be doing more harm than good lately. Will it lead to his demise?
1: Bobby Roode: He’s just got no quit. With another World Heavyweight title match confirmed, Roode appears on his way to hive Bobby Lashley a serious run for his money this time. Even if it mirrors John Cena’s feud with Brock Lesnar, Roode has shown a lot more charisma and desire as a face, something he seriously lacked the last time he was champion.
Better Than #1: Tag Team Division: The Tag Team tournament is over, but don’t think for one second that the battles are over. The Wolves have established themselves as the premier tag team in the world, while Team 3D and The Hardys have proven they are still capable of wonderful things in the ring. If TNA is smart, they find another way to keep these battles going.
