Carlo Barberi has also completed a variant of Death Of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy #1 for Ohio Comic Con (Oct. 31-Nov. 2).

“Mike Grell is a legend in the comic industry,” says Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel. “His unique, inimitable style has given birth to some beautiful covers over the years and we’re thrilled he could produce such a stunning Captain America & The Mighty Avengers #1 cover for Wizard World Tulsa.”

Grell knows a thing or two about comics… he’s been in the industry for more than 40 years, writing and drawing iconic strips and characters from Superboy to Tarzan to Batman. Most famously, Grell brought his own interpretation to the Green Arrow series, writing and occasionally drawing a redesigned look for the hero.

“It’s no accident that Mike Grell is doing a second cover in the series,” says John Macaluso, Wizard World CEO. “He is a favorite of Wizard World attendees, his work on the ‘Hulk’ variant in Minneapolis was very well received, and fans in Tulsa will love his take on ‘Captain America.’”

Spinning directly out of AVENGERS & X-MEN: AXIS! Sam Wilson has become Captain America, and when he assembles the Mighty Avengers, he has a whole new mission statement in mind for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. But how do the events of AXIS already spell doom for the team’s new direction? And what is Luke Cage doing meeting with the head of the notorious Cortex corporation? And why is Spider-Man trying to rejoin the team – doesn’t he know Luke and Jessica have been itching for payback ever since he tried to take their daughter to Child Services back when he was “Superior”?!

They’re the Avengers for the people, of the people – helping whoever needs it, however they need it. And together with Sam Wilson – the all-new Captain America – they are Mighty. But in the wake of the earth-shattering events of AXIS, are they truly together? Or about to fall apart? Guest-starring the apologetic arachnid – Spider-Man! Writer- Al Ewing.

Norman Reedus (“The Walking Dead, Boondock Saints), William Shatner (“Star Trek,” “Boston Legal”), Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Manu Bennett (“Arrow,” The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey), Eliza Dushku (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” True Lies) and Ralph Macchio (The Karate Kid, The Outsiders) are among the celebrities scheduled to attend the inaugural Wizard World Tulsa Comic Con. It is the 15th of 16 events scheduled in the 2014 series produced by Wizard World, Inc. and will also feature top celebrities and artists as well as a variety of activities, exhibitors and special attractions.

In addition to Grell, superstar comics creators scheduled to attend include Eisner Award Hall of Famer Neal Adams (“Batman,” “X-Men”), Ethan Van Sciver (“Green Lantern,” “Flash”), Billy Martin (Lead Guitarist/Keyboardist – “Good Charlotte”), Phil Ortiz (“The Simpsons,” “Muppet Babies”), Kevin Maguire (“Justice League,” “Batman Confidential”), Michael Golden (“Hulk,” “Star Wars”), Arthur Suydam (“Marvel Zombies,” “Army of Darkness”), James O’Barr (Creator – “The Crow”) and Greg Horn (“Guardians of the Galaxy,” “The Avengers”) and many others.
