TNA Impact Wrestling Coverage: New Knockouts Champion

After a summer in New York City, it’s hard to imagine Impact Wrestling keeping the same type of pace, but this week’s episode was a solid one, with five quality matches and a new Knockouts Champion being crowned.

Matches:

Austin Aries vs. X-Division Champion Samoa Joe: Aries pushed Joe to the limit with a bevy of signature moves including the Brainbuster and his Last Chancery submission, but Joe stayed alive and eventually got the win with the Kokina Clutch.

Ethan Carter III w/Rockstar Spud vs. Eric Young: Thanks to interference from Rockstar Sprud and an ECIII Low Blow, Carter was able to hit the High Knee and then the One Percenter for the surpring win over former the TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

Knockouts Champion Gail Kim vs. Havok: The match never began as Havok destroyed Kim before the bell with a monster Bearhug/Hammerlock Slam.

Manik w/The Great Sanada and James Storm vs. Shark Boy: The old fan favorite got a few of his spots in, but Manik ended up getting the best of him after a counter in the corner and the Frog Splash.

MVP w/ Kenny King vs. Mr. Anderson w/ Chris Melendez: MVP got the win with a Rollup in a fierce battle that turned in his favor after King’s interference following an Anderson attempt at the Mic-Check.

Knockouts Champion Gail Kim vs. Havok: Already injured, Kim fought her tail off with strikes and a Figure Four through the turnbuckle, but Havok managed to avoid the Eat Defeat and hits the Bearhug/Hammerlock Combo again, before finishing off Kim with a Chokeslam for the win.
