It looks like Bobby Roode will get one more shot at Bobby Lashley’s TNA World Heavyweight title after all.
In a decent episode of Impact, WWE export Brodus Clay also made his debut as Ethan Carter III’s new heavy. A role that he could flourish in, things could work out better for the big man this time around. Away from that, it was what you would expect from the first week following a pay per view- a lot of building for future storylines and drama.
With four solid matches and an awesome main event, TNA continues to survive, but lacks the sizzle moments that will keep it afloat. Bully Ray’ and Devons challenge to New Japan’s Bullet Club in New Japan at Bound for Glory would be an amazing concept and it’s things such as that which will keep TNA important in the wrestling community, not another Bobby Roode/Bobby Lashley match.
Matches:
Madison Rayne vs. Knockouts Champion Havok: Rayne was able to get in some high-flying offense in and out of the ring, but Havok got the win with the Harlot Slayer Clokeslam for the win.
Magnus vs. Matt Hardy: A decent back and forth that saw both competitors hit most of their signature moves until Hardy countered a top-rope Splash into the Cutter for the win.
Angelina Love, DJ Z and Jessie Godderz w/ Velvet Sky vs. Knux, Rebel and Crazzy Steve: An average match that ended after a solid Tornado DDT from Crazzy Steve on Godderz.
Shark Boy vs. Tyrus: After the Headbutt and T-Bone Suplex, Tyrus hit the Avalanche in the corner and finished him off with the Chokeslam.
#1 Contender’s Elimination Match: Austin Aries vs. Bobby Roode vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Eric Young: An insane match with plenty of hits and misses. Roode and Aries hit their RoodeBomb and Brainbuster simultaneously on Hardy and Young to make it a singles match. After a few minutes of strikes and counters of each other’s signature submission and finishing maneuvers, Roode hit the RoodeBomb for the win.
