With a slew of matches and plenty of promo, this week’s Monday Night RAW tried to set up this weekend’s Hell in a Cell and even if it was a lukewarm effort, there was plenty of things left to think about.
Check out this week’s RAW Power Rankings to see who left this week’s RAW with the most momentum before Hell in a Cell.
Honorable Mention: Damien Sandow: It’s only a matter of time until Sandow outgrows The Miz. Think of it as what should have happened with Alex Riley, but better. The Miz doesn’t need a sideshow and eventually Sandow is going to overstep his bounds or hurt The Miz more than he helps. Once that happens, it’ll be a war. A solid worker with plenty of charisma, Sandow is just a few lucky breaks away from being the dependable mid-carder he should been already.
5: The Wyatt Family: The promos are getting tiresome. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper are monsters that need to be in the ring- and soon. Otherwise, this is all just a big waste of time. After their failed attempts at Tag Team gold, Rowan and Harper need “Special†returns. If not, it’ll be hard to reestablish their credibility. The same thing goes for Bray Wyatt, who just a few months after his win over Chris Jericho, has zero momentum and is in desperate need of something wild and crazyin order to give his faction and reason to move back up the card.
4: Randy Orton: He continues to tease an anti-hero face turn and his RKO on both John Cena and Paul Heyman this week on RAW continue to make him relevant. Can he beat Cena at Hell in a Cell? If he does, does he stand a chance against Brock Lesnar?
3: Dean Ambrose: With his opportunity to get his hands on Seth Rollins assured, expect the wild and crazy Ambrose to bring his A-game this weekend. Continuing to gain momentum, like Rollins, Ambrose is primed for run with a mid-card title.
2: Seth Rollins: Everyone wants to see him get his ass kicked and he just might at Hell in a Cell. Cocky and arrogant to his core, Rollins is easily one of the best young heels in the business and is absolutely ready for a run with the Intercontinental or United States title. Where he goes after this battle with Dean Ambrose is anyone’s guess, but make no mistake, he’ll continue to stay in the middle of the promotion’s biggest feuds.
1: John Cena: Randy Orton has his number right now, but Cena wants to get his hands on WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. Hungry to get his title back, Cena will do whatever it takes to once again be the face of the company.
