The Walking Dead Episode Commentary: Slabtown

This episode of “The Walking Dead” was a drag with several intense moments that were saved for the end.

“Slabtown” uncovers Beth’s whereabouts and introduces us to several new characters. One of which was Noah, played by Tyler James Williams, (Everybody Hates Chris). This episode focused on Beth who has been captured by psychopath police officers in an Atlanta hospital

Unfortunately, this episode was a complete bore that lacked interest and satisfaction to fans of this show. Similar to an episode that focused strictly on The Governor a few seasons back, “Slabtown” was no different. This season was off to a great start with the group reunited. Now that group is split up again, we are back to square one with a plot-line that is simply lackluster.

This episode lacked the quintessential “Walking Dead” theme. There wasn’t much action and the walkers had limited screen time. Throughout this episode, we did see Beth go through quite a bit though. She got slapped around, sexually assaulted with a lollipop and even kills a patient because she was tricked by the doctor. There were moments where this episode felt like a rendition to “ER” and “Everybody Hates Chris,” minus the narration. There were patients that were brought to the hospital who were brutally injured and Beth played nurse. Also you could not help but laugh every time Williams was on screen. He does not seem like a good fit for this show.

At the site, I'm a music, television and graphic novel kind of guy and that's what I'll be writing for the most part. Expect some book and music reviews as well though [insert demon horns here]. I grew up in Bensonhurst Brooklyn, the same neighborhood many of the best mafia films of our day were based on, idolizing guys like Robert Deniro, Martin Scorsese and Al Pacino. I'm also a big sports fan and follow the New York Yankees immensely.
