Two new champions, drama between Lashley and Bobby Roode for the World Heavyweight title and what looks like the beginning of an MVP/Kurt Angle feud and it’s fair to say TNA was on its A-game this week.
With a new television deal in place, stability is finally in place for the promotion. Now they use the momentum and create something special? The jury may still be out on whether or not TNA can even be a true #2 wrestling promotion, but for the time being, it’s just an entertaining show.
That’ll have to suffice for now.
Matches:
Taryn Terrell vs. Gail Kim vs. Knockouts Champion Havok: Kim and Terrell worked together for a good part to take down Havoc, but once the action really picked up, both Kim and Terrell fought amongst each other. Havoc did fight back and attempted a Splash and a Chokeslam on both competitors, but Kim and Terrell were a step ahead, hitting the Eat Defeat and Cutter on her. Kim then went for a quick pin on Terrell, but the Blonde underdog countered into a pinning combination of her own to win the Knockouts title.
Kenny King vs. Chris Melendez: King was up to his typical heel ways, but once Melendez started to cook, hitting kicks (with his prosthetic leg) and a Fisherman Suplex for a near-fall, MVP hit the ring and took out Melendez with a chair to get King DQed.
Bram w/Magnus vs. Tommy Dreamer: This was a bloody mess and thanks to help from Magnus, who was later dispatched by the returning Al Snow, Bram was able to fight back (after Dreamer rubbed a cheese grater against his already bloodied forehead) and hit Dreamer’s DDT on the hardcore icon for the win.
X-Division Title Match: Low-Ki vs. Tigre Uno vs. Zema Ion vs. Manik: Every competitor had an opportunity to win the title here as this was a signature and finishing move bonanza that saw Ki win the title following a Top Rope Ki-Krusher on Uno.
