TNA Impact Wrestling Coverage: Seeds of Change

Samoa Joe’s relinquishing of the X-Division title and Jame Storm and Abyss’ capturing of the TNA Tag Team titles has thrown a bit of spice into the promotion. While MVP and Bobby Roode’s absence from this week’s show caused a bit of a lull, Austin Aries and Bobby Lashley picked up the pace in a decent main event that should blow into a full-on feud.

Matches:

James Storm and Abyss w/Manik and The Great Sanada vs. TNA Tag Team Champions Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards: After he traded in his “Feast or Fired” Tag Team title shot, Storm went for the quick win, but Edwards kicked out. After Storm hit the Eye of the Storm, Abyss made his debut for The Revolution and nailed Edwards with The Chokeslam and Blackhole Slam before he allowed Storm to make the cover for the win.

Madison Rayne vs. Taryn Terrell: Rayne has gone full heel and her attempts at getting the easy win were put to bed when Terrell won with the Diamond Cutter after he countered Rayne’s Rayne Check finisher.

Handicap Elimination Tag Team Match: Jessie Godderz and Zema Ion and Angelina Love and Velvey Sky vs. The Menagerie, Knux, Crazy Steve and Rebel: A standard handicap match until Crazy Steve was left alone against Sky and Godderz. After he rolled up Sky and got the pin and a forced kiss for himself, Steve managed to kick out of a massive Powerbomb from Godderz and get the win with a Tornado DDT.

Tyrus w/ Ethan Carter III vs. Eric Young w/ Rockstar Spud: Tyrus used his size throughout the match, while Spud and ECIII locked eyes throughout the encounter. Regardless of the size difference however, Young was able to fight back and get the win with the Top Rope Elbow after Spud neutralized ECIII on the outside.

No Disqualification: Samuel Shaw w/ Brittany vs. Gunner: This was a tough one. From Superplexes on steel chairs and Powerbombs on the ring steps, Gunner was on fire. Interference from Brittany kept Shaw in the match, but it wasn’t enough to get him the win. Even after a Brittany Low Blow and a Shaw steel chair shot, Gunner hit the F5 for the win.

Austin Aries vs. Bobby Lashley: These two destroyed each other, but it ended in a double-count-out. Expect another match, soon.
