Don’t be confused by the huge amount of promo, this week’s Impact set up a ton of new and current rivalries and did something many have been hoping for- get us excited for next week.
Check out this week’s TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see who starred in one of the best episodes of Impact Wrestling this year.
Honorable Mention: James Storm: He’s one of the best tag team wrestlers of all time and it makes sense that he’s right in the middle of all the drama between the TNA Tag Team Champions Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards. Will Richards join the Revolution? What are Storm’s real plans here?
5: Rockstar Spud: Whoa. All of a sudden the kid has a pair of marbles. Calling Ethan Carter III a “Big-Nosed Douchebag,†Spud stepped up his promo game big time and all of a sudden, the fans dig him. TNA’s version of Spike Dudley, Spud is going to have to sell his arse off if he’s going to become credible, but he’s got the charisma needed to be the type of underdog face people enjoy watching.
4: Bram and Magnus: If you thought hardcore wrestling was dead, Bram has done a good job at revitalizing the genre. Aided on the mic by the much more charismatic Magnus, these two have done an excellent job at giving Devon and Tommy Dreamer a few more miles and at the same time, building a resume for themselves.
3: Bobby Lashley: His “turn†on MVP signals a new road for the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion. With priorities in Bellator, chances are you’ll be seeing much less of Lashley in the future, but at least now he can be in a position to still dominate his foes, but not be in the constant pressure of a world title situation. In a weird way, it’s the best of both worlds for him.
2: The Hardy Boys: Matt and Jeff are all set for a shot at the TNA Tag Team Champions Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards. Make no mistake, it’ll be a great match. Over the last few months, the Hardy’s have proven they are more than a relic of the past. Although Matt is far from the physical specimen he used to be, he can still perform, while Jeff is as charismatic as ever. The end result is a legitimate team that deserves a shot at the gold.
1: Bobby Roode: The new TNA World Heavyweight Champion took care of MVP and for the first time in a long time, looks like a strong champion.
