TNA Impact Wrestling Coverage: Lockdown Card Set?

Is it crazy that the Go-Home show before Lockdown this week on Impact was better than RAW’s episode before Royal Rumble?

With no wasted moments, a respectable Divas match, some high-flying action, storyline development and a Monster’s Ball performance from Abyss and Jeff Hardy, this week’s Impact never dragged.

Matches:

Madison Rayne vs. Gail Kim vs. Taryn Terrell: This was pretty fast-paced and was a solid six or seven minute owner. Although all three Knockouts pushed it hard and had their share of near-falls, Terrell got the win with the Cutter after Rayne dodged a Crossbody from Kim.

Monster’s Ball: Abyss vs. Jeff Hardy: The New York City crowd chanted “You Still Got It,” and regardless of who they were talking about, the match was a brutal one. Cheese graters, chairs and the usual assortment of hardcore items littered the ring as these two enigmas beat the crap out of each other. Abyss brought the tacks and Janice into the ring, but Hardy escaped Janice and hit the Twist of Fate, but The Revolution interfered before Hardy could hit the Senton Bomb. Although Matt Hardy made the save, the numbers game eventually caught up to them when Storm took out Matt with The Last Call. The Wolves then injected themselves into the equation, taking out the Revolution with strikes and a Double Suicide Dive, which allowed Abyss to lay the tacks down. With Hardy on the top rope, Abyss went for the Superplex on the tacks, but Hardy countered into a Seated Powerbomb and then the Senton for the win.

Rockstar Spud and Mandrews vs. Robbie E. and Jessie Godderz w/Zema Ion and Angelina Love: Whoa- Spud hit the Acid Drop and Mandrews followed it up with the Shooting Star Press for the surprise win, but Tyrus and Ethan Carter III took them out and challenged them to a handicap match against Tyrus at Lockdown.

Fatal Four Way: TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley vs. Austin Aries vs. MVP vs. Bobby Roode:
More a tease for the next World Title defense, Lashley got the win over Aries with the Spear, but the BDC and Eric Young got involved after and took out Roode, Lashley and Aries. Kurt Angle and Gunner then made the save and set up the four on four match for Lockdown, adding Austin Aries to his team, but was unable to get Lashley on his team.

So who will Angle get to complete his team?
