A handful of good matches, the return of Mr. Anderson and the ongoing feud between Lashley, Kurt Angle and the Beat Down Clan centering around the TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Check out this week’s TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see how the promotion fared in their first show outside New York City in 2015.
He’s Back: Mr. Anderson’s return bolsters the mid-card, but where he exactly fits in is anyone’s guess. More an indication than Mandrews isn’t ready for a real tough match, Anderson will help the Ethan Carter/Spyd feud a ton, both on the mic and in the ring.
Honorable Mention: Eric Young: Damn does he have it out for Bobby Roode. Two Piledrivers cemented that not only is their friendship permanently over, but also ensures that this heated rivalry will continue. One of the most respected performers in TNA, his recent heel turn is anything but a plot. Aggressive and able to dominate, Roode is going to have his hands full.
5: Bram: Sure wins over Crazzy Steve aren’t anything to exclaim over, but Bram is on a roll. One of the toughest competitors in TNA, Bram’s stock has never been higher, especially after he took out former friend and TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Magnus.
4: The Beat Down Clan: These guys are still hungry and they still want the TNA World Heavyweight title. It doesn’t matter who they take out backstage, they need to get more done in the ring. Because, even in defeat, Lashley has stayed defiant and managed to keep the belt. At this point, the BDC needs something big to get them to the next level. Sadly, this week’s Impact main event may be proof that MVP may not have that World Title pedigree the BDC needs in order to be a successful faction. They don’t need wins via Rollup. They have to dominate
3: Kurt Angle: The olympic hero shocked everyone when he asked Bobby Lashley for a TNA World Heavyweight title match. Now back in the thick of thicks for the first time in over a year, can Angle become TNA Champion again? While the crowd still loves him and he’s still a solid performer, can he take down the most dominant champion in TNA history?
2: Bobby Roode: He wants a rematch. The fact that he beat Austin Aries on Impact this past week makes even more sense that he’d get his wish. With plenty of momentum and a lingering feud with a TNA star the likes of Eric Young also makes Roode quite the commodity.
1: Bobby Lashley: MVP may have beaten him with a Rollup in this past week’s tag team main event on Impact, but that would never happen in a singles match. The most dominant champion in TNA history, Lashley needs to take care of the BDC by himself.
