With so many tag team matches, you’d think Teddy Long was in the Gorilla position booking this week’s RAW.
But with plenty of Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns, as well as Seth Rollins- and a Katie Vick reference and rare Brock Lesnar appearance and there was plenty to keep you engaged, even if many of the matches were cookie cutter and the pace slower than the Tortoise in this year’s Super Bowl ad.
After the first hour, the theme was set. The Authority was set on getting their way in every match they were in, by any means necessary. Add in Triple H’s calling out of Sting and you knew something was going to go down.
If not for the “Sting†appearance and his accepting of a match between he and Triple H at Fast Lane, this show would have been awful. With it, the show was decent.
Sad that at the end of the day that Seth Rollins’ social media disaster took more people’s eyes away from RAW and put them somewhere else- where they should have never been.
Matches:
Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan vs. Kane and Big Show: Kane and Show sold a lot for Reigns and Bryan, who were on the offensive throughout. Although Kane and Show fought back, Bryan got Kane in the Yes Lock, but was thrown over the Time Keeper’s area, which forced the referee to throw the match out. Soon enough, Show used a chair on Reigns, but Reigns fought back and used the chair on Show. However, Kane then got involved and Bryan took out Reigns in the corner by accident with the Running Dropkick.
Ryback vs. Seth Rollins w/Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury: Ryback fought past Noble and Mercury and was set to deliver the Shellshocked for the win, but interference from J & J got the match thrown out. After the bell, Rollins hit the Super Kick and the Curb Stomp on Ryback.
Brie Bella w/ Divas Champion Nikki Bella vs. Paige: Able to avoid the interference of Nikki, Paige hit the Rampage on Brie for the one-sided win.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Bray Wyatt: Ziggler was his usual energetic self and went the extra mile to use his speed to keep Wyatt on his toes, taking Wyatt to the outside with a Drop Kick that bloodied Wyatt’s nose. Wyatt did fight back though, hitting his signature running side Avalanche that nearly cut Ziggler in half. Ziggler then hit a Superkick and a DDT, but Wyatt hit a nasty Clothesline on the outside and finished off Ziggler with the Sister Abigail.
Stardust and Goldust vs. Big E. Langston and Kofi Kingston w/Xavier Woods: Kingston got the win with the Rollup after Stardust left the match.
WWE Tag Team Champions Jimmy and Jey Uso w/Naomi vs. Antonio Cesaro and Tyson Kidd w/Natalya Neidhart: A decent back and forth match that saw Cesaro and Kidd take advantage of solid double teaming and antics behind the refs back, leading to a Kidd win via the School Boy.
Sin Cara vs. Damien Sandow w/ The Miz: Miz wouldn’t get Sandow get going, doing everything from asking him to open up his water and not use his moves, which allowed Cara to win with a Rollup.
Dean Ambrose vs. Curtis Axel: Ambrose got the quick win with the Dirty Deeds and then called out Wade Barrett for a shot at the Intercontinental Championship.
Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan vs. Seth Rollins, Joey Mercury, Jamie Noble, Big Show and Kane: Before the match even got started, Kane and Big Show hit the Double Chokeslam on Reigns, sending him to the outside. After the bell, Rollins hit Brock Lesnar-esque German Suplexes on Bryan, while Show pounded on him with strikes. Outnumbered five to one, Bryan continued to fight and even put the Yes Lock on Mercury, but Rollins made sure it didn’t last. After a Kane Chokeslam, Reigns made the save, but the Authority fought back as Show knocked out Reigns with the KO Punch. Rollins then hit the Turnbuckle Powerbomb on Bryan, but couldn’t put him away. Soon enough, Kane and Big Show removed the TVs from the announce table in an attempt to put Bryan through, but Ryback, Dolph Ziggler and Erik Rowan made the save and the fighting continued on the outside. With J & J security left in the ring with Bryan, the former WWE Champion hit a Double Dropkick from the Top Rope and then a pair of Buzzsaw Kicks. Just when it appeared Bryan was going to win with the Running Knee, Reigns tagged himself in and won with the Spear. After the match, the two argued and Reigns hit Bryan with the Spear to end the show.
