With no title matches of any kind this past week on Impact, this week was all about grudges and in the end, Ethan Carter III made perhaps the biggest statement of his career.
Check out this week’s Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see who got their head shaved and who else is moving up the card.
Honorable Mention: Brooke Tessmacher: Her win over Robbie E. this week helps her moving forward, but with Awesome Kong and Taryn Terrell in the middle of a feud of their own, is there room for another pint-sized underdog in TNA?
5: Magnus: Rejuvenated with Mickie James by his side, the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion has his hands full with Bram and for good reason, he’s one of the top young stars in the promotion today. While he’s kissing boots today, he’ll eventually get the last laugh.
4: Drew Galloway: You’ve got to like what you’ve seen so far from the former Intercontinental Champion. His “Raise Your Hand and Have Your Voice Heard†promos are pretty cool and put him in a position to be a top face in the company. At the same time, his Future Shock DDT may not be the right move to shoot him to the top. Either way you look at it though, he’s in a feud with one of the top heels in the company right now and is getting tons of TV time.
3: Bobby Roode: His win over Eric Young this week sheds him of one angle and gets him ready for another. A proven commodity in TNA, expect him to get right into another feud very quickly. Although it’s unclear when he’ll get another shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, he’s always in the mix.
2: Rockstar Spud: Talk about someone “wanting it.†Undersized, to say the very least, Spud continues to prove he’s got a ton of talent and will without a doubt be a force in the X-Division title scene once it becomes relevant again, or perhaps that’ll be a job he’ll perform all by himself.
1: Ethan Carter III: While no one expected Carter to lose to Spud, his ruthless and charisma this week on Impact makes him an even better heel and someone that should challenge for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship very soon.
