This episode of “The Walking Dead†presented a new beginning for the group as they settle in a new community.
“Remember†introduced us to Deanna Monroe, a former congresswoman and leader of Alexandria. Her kindness and care for the group seem to help them for now, but as we’ve seen before with The Governor back in Woodbury, the tables can quickly turn. The group is settled in Alexandria for now. They have their own homes, supplies and jobs.
This episode had a slow pace. There wasn’t much action going on. Most of the time, the group was getting used to their new surroundings. Rick finally shaves his beard and gets a haircut. His appearance is somewhat similar to the pilot episode. While the audience is slowly getting used to Rick’s new look, Rick is slowly coping with change. There were several times throughout this episode where Rick has sleepless nights and still lives like he’s in survival mode. He wakes up in the middle of the night and grabs a kitchen knife and he even goes for an evening stroll.
Daryl certainly is not used to change and has his doubts about staying in Alexandria. While the rest of the group is cleaned up and showered, Daryl remains the same. It’s just him, his hunting bow and a gutted opossum. This episode on a whole was calm. Other than a few Run-Ins with walkers and a heated argument that almost led to physical force, “Believe†was a set up to a potential story line that could lead trouble in Alexandria.
