New Tag Champions and Drew Galloway’s first encounter with the Beat Down Clan made sure that this past week’s Impact was solid.
Check out this week’s TNA Power Rankings to see who else starred in a much-needed bounce-back episode of Impact Wrestling.
Honorable Mention: Awesome Kong: Well, the bitch is officially back now. After wasting time with Havoc this winter, Kong has her sights set on the TNA Knockouts title. Although this past Impact saw her lose to current Champion Taryn Terrell, Kong has been the dominator for the entire duration of this feud.
5: Bram: His current feud with Magnus is one that will ultimately benefit Bram more and considering his possible allegiance with The Revolution and his win this past week against Matt Hardy on Impact, Bram’s stock has never been higher. All he needs is a few more high impact signature maneuvers and some more time on the mic and he’ll be in an even better situation to move up the card.
4: Ethan Carter III and Rockstar Spud: The thought of a hair vs. hair match between these two is too much fun to ignore. Between Carter’s villainy and the underdog antics of Spud, this angle has the potential to work both on the mic and in the ring. Regardless of how long it’s taken to develop, the two still have plenty of chemistry as well.
3: Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards: Earning their third TNA Tag Team Championship this past week on Impact, the Wolves ended the run of the Revolution and appear all but set to go against the Hardy Boys once again- or whatever tag team decides to stand in their way.
2: Drew Galloway: His promo on this past week’s Impact Wrestling was easily one of the best of his career and one that gets him a ton of much-needed attention. A solid performer who still has a ton of potential, the former “Chosen One†of the WWE will finally get the chance in TNA that he never got in the WWE.
1: Kurt Angle: Now officially the #1 Contender in TNA, Angle has an uphill battle in trying to take away the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from Bobby Lashley. While Lashley shouldn’t have too much trouble beating Angle, if the Olympic Champion can find a way to turn back the clock one last time, Lashley could have his hands full as well.
