A handful of bouts with little to no impact and a lack of title matches made this week’s NXT passable, even if the in-ring action was solid.
Overall, while it’s understandable that guys like Finn Balor and Kevin Owens can’t be on the show every week, more needs to be done to make the show worthwhile when they aren’t.
Matches:
Rhino vs. Unnamed Competitor: A Belly-to-Belly Suplex and a Gore and it was game over.
Bayley vs. Emma: Bayley got the win with a Rollup after a cocky Emma hit the Crossbody in the corner. Overall, it was a slow-paced match with little excitement.
NXT Tag Team Champions Blake and Murphy vs. The Lucha Dragons: A relatively boing match that saw Blake and Murphy get the win withe Vertical Suplex/Frog Splash combination.
Tye Dillinger vs. Jason Jordan: Dillinger got in a few moves, but Jordan got the win with the Pump Handle Release Suplex.
Two-out-of-Three Falls Match: Tyler Breeze vs. Hideo Itami: Breeze got in a few licks early, but Itami got the first pin-fall thanks to his Diving Yakuza Kick. The two then traded offense for about 10 minutes, with plenty of near-falls. Although Itami was the dominant performer, Breeze hit another Beauty Shot for the win.
