NXT Coverage: Zayn Takes Down Rhino

After a few sloppy episodes, NXT got back on track thanks to the debut of Dana Brooke and a solid main event from Rhino and Sami Zayn.

With the promise of a three-way number one-contender’s match for the NXT Women’s Title and another Kevin Owens/Alex Riley bout next week, NXT isn’t about to get boring any time soon.

Matches:

CJ Parker vs. Solomon Crowe: In what was probably Parker’s last televised match in NXT, Parker was extra physical, but Crowe matched him strike for strike and even added in his share of high-flying antics. Although Parker hit his signature Clothesline and Scissor Kick, Crowe was able to kick out and then get the win with Headbutt from the top rope and the Stretch Muffler.

Baron Corbin vs. Steve Cutler: The new-look Cutler was destroyed in seconds after a Clothesline and the End of Days.

Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady w/Carmella vs. Angelo Dawkins and Sawyer Fulton: Although the NXT Tag Team Champions Blake and Murphy hit the ring to give Carmella flowers, Amore and Cassady got the win with Amore’s Assisted Rocket Launcher Splash.

Dana Brooke vs. Blue Pants: Brooke got the win with a Seated Death Valley Driver, but Blue Pants unloaded on her with kicks to gain the support of the crowd.

Sami Zayn vs. Rhino: Zayn sold his tail off in this match as Rhino hit him with everything from a High Impact Spinebuster to his Modified Neckbreaker. Going as far to slap Rhino in the face, Zayn never kept coming and just when it appeared he was done for, Zayn hit Somersault Plancha on the outside, but was hit with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex. After Rhino missed the Gore however, Zayn hit the Helluva Kick for the win.
