Review Fix: How does it feel to be a part of the Spring Fling?
Jon Caren: Like a newborn baby.
Review Fix: What are your real goals for this production?
Caren: My real goal? Damn, I was prepared to tell you my fake goal. But if you really need to know… I want to make people laugh and identify . Then, I want to spark a revolution… like a flash mob in Union Square, and I want to get rid of all evil, and eradicate the corporate stronghold over Washington. But mostly, make people laugh.
Review Fix: What was the inspiration for this production?
Caren: Going to a gelateria. Almost breaking up.
Review Fix: What have you learned about yourself through this?
Caren: I’m funny and brilliant. But does everyone else agree? I’ll never know.
Review Fix: What do you think makes your voice as a writer unique?
Caren: I’m afraid of so many things… So there’s a lot to write about.
Review Fix: Who do you think will enjoy it the most?
Caren: Charles Isherwood.
Review Fix: Bottom Line, why should someone see it?
Caren: Because I’m talking about what goes on in our minds, in relationships, whether you want to admit it or not. You’re not alone.
Review Fix: How do you want it to affect people?
Caren: Love each other harder. Piss out the cynicism. Then drink it down again. Rinse, repeat.
Review Fix: What’s next?
Caren: My new play NEED TO KNOW has a reading by Colt Couer on May 10th. Come check it out.
