You can’t create a rivalry. It has to be organic. Throwing three decent competitors in the ring and praying for magic isn’t enough.
The WWE should know better.
Check out this week’s RAW Power Rankings to see who starred in a lackluster episode of RAW.
Honorable Mention: Adrian Neville: How many guys get a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight title in their second week? One of the most versatile high-flyers in the promotion and the world, Neville, even in a losing effort to Seth Rollins, put on a show. Athletic and charismatic, all Neville needs is some time on the mic- this way he doesn’t become a Kofi Kingston/Evan Bourne type, forced to put on great matches because that’s the only way he can get over.
5: The Lucha Dragons: Their win over The New Day continues the team’s rise up the Tag Team up the tag team ranks. While Kalisto had the big week last week, it was Sin Cara that stole the show this week with an awesome Senton for the win.
4: Sheamus: His new look and gimmick makes the most of his destructive in-ring style but forgive us for not being excited about his lackluster match with Mark Henry this week.
3: John Cena: His win over Stardust this week was vintage Cena, but it continues the trend of making the United States title as viable as ever. Eager to get back in the ring with former Champion Rusev, Cena continues to gain momentum and enjoy his ride to the top of the middle of the card. Although not the company’s main guy, he’s still an important piece of the puzzle.
2: Randy Orton: Two wins on this week’s RAW, Orton was one of the only bright spots on an otherwise weak episode.
1: Seth Rollins: His win over Adrian Neville was a decent performance, but his antics with Kane and Randy Orton put him over the top. Much like a Jeff Jarrett, cheat all day-type champ, Rollins is able to still give the crowd something special thanks to one of the coolest finishers in the sport today. With Randy Orton on his tail, Rollins is sure to have his hands full going into Extreme Rules.
