With the returns of Bully Ray and Velvet Sky, as well as some newfound stability in the TNA Tag Team Division, as well as more drama surrounding the TNA World Heavyweight title and the slew of feuds in the mid-card made for a solid episode of Impact, that if anything, could have used more in-ring action.
Although the storyline development wasn’t exactly filler, TNA cannot forget where their metaphorical bread is buttered. keep it in the ring guys.
Matches:
Falls Count Anywhere: Mr. Anderson vs. Ethan Carter III w/ Tyrus: Anderson was in control for most of the match, hitting strikes and his Senton Carry on the outside and in the ring. But it was the interference from Tyrus, after the Avalanche in the corner and the Spike Clothesline that led to the ECIII win.
Drew Galloway w/Micah and Eli Drake vs. MVP w/X-Division Champion Kenny King and Low-Ki: Galloway got the win with the Future Sock DDT, but interference from Eric Young after the bell made sure that The Rising couldn’t celebrate their victory for long.
TNA Knockouts Champion Taryn Terrell Jade and Marti Bell vs. Gail Kim and Awesome Kong: This was a disaster. Kim and Terrell could only do so much and Kong’s destructive capabilities aside, Bell and Jade were awful. With zero polish, they made the match almost impossible to watch. After Terrell got the win with a Rollup, Kim and Kong hit their finishers on Jade.
TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle vs. Eric Young w/Special Referee Bully Ray: Things got hairy after the Beat Down Clan beat on Angle on the outside and Young took out Ray with a Low Blow, but Chris Melendez and The Rising evened the odds before Bully countered a Young Piledriver, allowing Angle to hit the Angle Slam and nearly win. Young then nearly won himself with a Piledriver. After Angle rolled through a Young Splash from the top, Angle locked in the Ankle Lock for the win.
