Eric Young doesn’t have the title, but he continues to prove every week that he’ll go to crazy lengths for another shot at it. Add in plenty of solid mid-card action and contention for every title in the company, well except the X-Division, and this week’s Impact left you with plenty to talk about.
Check out this week’s TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see who left in more than one piece.
Tag Team Division: Even with all the injuries, the TNA Tag Team Division is still stronger than the WWE’s. The first match o the best of five series for the TNA World Tag Team titles was a solid one, as the Wolves squeaked out a close one. Whoever becomes champion eventually will have their hands- full, especially when the Hardy Boys get back into the equation.
Honorable Mention: The Dollhouse: OK, we get it, they are awful, but they keep on getting wins and their leader Taryn Terrell is a tough SOB. If she can find a way to get comfortable as a heel and Marti Bell and Jade can polish out their work in the ring, they’ll be much better than they are right now. But what are the chances of that really happening?
5: Mr. Anderson: He’s not going to beat Ethan Carter III at Slammaversary, but he’s going to get a big push leading up to it. A former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Anderson can still go and will put Carter over in the ring in a way that Sting and Kurt Angle couldn’t. After that, it’ll be interesting to see what’s next for him.
4: The Revolution: Even without the tag team titles, this faction has found a way to add spice to the mid-card. James Storm and Magnus’ feud continues to add new layers and drama. Out-manned against the Revolution, who will Magnus enlist in order to take down the faction so he can move on with his life and Baby’s mama in Mickie James?
3: BeatDown Clan/The Rising: These two groups still have plenty of issues and you should expect another match between the two. Although The Rising is younger, they’ve shown a silliness to put their bodies on the line. That could be the thing that puts them over the top.
2: Kurt Angle: He’s still the TNA World Heavyweight Champion, but he may not have the audacity needed to take on a guy like Eric Young, who has nothing to lose. Can Angle step up his game and hold on to the strap?
1: Eric Young: He’s insane. No other way to put it. How many people have choked a guy out with a fake leg? Simply put, Young needs that belt around his waist.
