With a great Tag Team match between the Wolves and the Dirty Heels, as well as Rockstar Spud’s decision to take on Kurt Angle for the TNA World Heavyweight title, this week’s Impact had a few cool moments.
Check out this week’s Impact Power Rankings to see who has the most momentum leading to Destination X.
Honorable Mention: Chris Melendez: He wants a piece of Eric Young and his getting involved in EY’s match with Bobby Lashley signals the beginning of a feud. Can Melendez hold his own with he former TNA World Heavyweight Champion?
5: Rockstar Spud: His cashing in of the X-Division title is a cool move for the under-sized Spud, but it goes to prove again that TNA has forgotten all about the X-Division. A guy that could have helped restore some legitimacy to the division, Spud has chosen to go the short-term success route than the long road.
4: The Rising: Their win over the Beat Down Clan was an important one in terms of their future development, but with the Wolves and Dirty Heels feuding over the Tag Team straps and no real secondary title in the promotion, their chances to move up the ladder seem reliant on feuds and not the pursuit of titles.
3: Ethan Carter III: If you’re a real wrestling fan, you have to hate this guy, in the best way possible. An excellent heel, he’s ready to take on Kurt Angle, a guy he’s already beaten before- and win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. With Tyrus by his side and a ton of charisma, Carter is ready to take center stage in Impact Wrestling.
2: The Dirty Heels/The Wolves: With the win, Bobby Roode and Austin Aries have kept the Best-of-Five series going and thank goodness. Some of the best wrestling on Impact has happened in these matches and it would be a travesty to see it come to a close earlier than it had to.
1: Kurt Angle: The reigning and defending TNA World Heavyweight Champion shouldn’t have a problem beating Rockstar Spud at Destination X and after that, it’ll be Ethan Carter III that’ll be next to test the champion’s mettle.
