With two good matches to end the show, Luke Harper’s rejoining the Wyatt Family and two enjoyable Divas matches, you’d think this week’s Monday Night RAW would be a special one, but you’d be wrong.
Thanks to mainly filler matches and more preliminary feud-making booking, this week’s RAW was more a letdown than anything else, in spite of a few cool moments.
Check out this week’s RAW Power Rankings to see who else made the best of a weak episode of the WWE’s flagship program.
Honorable Mention: Dean Ambrose: In spite of losing to The Big Show this week on RAW, Ambrose showed a ton of fortitude and got the best of The Giant by the end of it all. Once of the most popular performers in the promotion, Ambrose is on the fringe of getting back in the hunt for a singles title.
5: Adrian Neville: His win over Fandango was a quick one, but his current feud with Stardust has a ton of potential for both of them. This generation’s Evan Bourne or Billy Kidman, Neville is a star in the making- as long as he keeps the Red Arrows coming.
4: The Divas Division: For the third week in a row, the Divas did more than hold their own- they had some of the best moments of the show. Although the storyline they are all featured in is a poorly-written joke and proving that some of these ladies have zero charisma (Naomi and Tamina Snuka especially), they have proven that they can work and entertain in the ring.
3: Kevin Owens: How many guys are in the WWE for less than six months and can say they’ve beaten and/or shared the ring with Sheamus, Rusev, John Cena, Cesaro and Randy Orton. Win, lose or draw, you know you’re going to get a great match out of Owens and probably some truthful and cocky promo. How can you argue with that?
2: John Cena: He’s going to get a shot against Seth Rollins at Summerslam and is probably going to lose the United States title along the way but that doesn’t mean Cena has a reason to worry. He’s still the WWE’s guy and still the living legend that sells a ton of merch. Simply put, he’s going to make Rollins a star and give his haters even more of a reason to despise him.
1: Seth Rollins: He’s arrogant, but he’s also convinced. Able to keep the title in spite of being beaten to a pulp by Brock Lesnar at Battleground, Rollins has his hands full with John Cena, but with The Authority behind him, it’s even easier for him to be the most hated man in the WWE. Don’t let the submission loss fool you, Rollins is still in the driver’s seat.
