With three solid matches, this week’s NXT was more than watchable, but lacked real star power as Kevin Owens, Finn Balor and Samoa Joe were left off the card, as well as the training Eva Marie and the hungry Bull Dempsey.
Matches:
NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair vs. Dana Brooke and Emma: Banks and Flair got the wins with Submission wins as Banks locked in the Bank Statement and Flair the Figure Eight to end the match. After the bell, Flair told Banks she wants a title shot next week.
Replay of Beast in the East NXT Championship match between Kevin Owens and Finn Balor: A great match, that as you know, saw Balor capture the NXT Championship after using two versions of his NJPW finisher, the Bloody Sunday, before finishing off Owens with the Coupe De Grace.
Marcus Louis vs. Solomon Crowe: Louis got his licks in, but Crowe eventually got the win with the Stretch Muffler.
#1 Contenders for the NXT Tag Team Title Match: Aiden English and Simon Gotch vs. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady w/Carmella: As expected, Amore was a punching bag while Gotch and English utilized quick tags and plenty of double teams. Casually changed the match with his usual barrage of strikes and the East River Plunge, but English was able to counter an Amore Cross Body into a Rollup for the win.

Hickey Jr. is also a voice actor, having starred in the 2018 indie hit and 2019 Switch, PS4 and Xbox One release, The Padre (also serving as English language Story Editor), from Shotgun With Glitters. The sequel, The Padre: One Shell Straight to Hell was released in February 2021- Hickey also served as a Story Editor and Lead Voiceover performer. He has also done narration and trailers for several other titles including The Kaiju Offensive, Relentless Rex and Roniu’s Tale.
Hickey is also the lead voiceover performer on Mega Cat Studios’ upcoming title WrestleQuest, responsible for nearly 90 characters in the game, as well as Skybound's Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood, where he voices both Dracula and Renfield, as well as several other characters. He also stars in Ziggurat Interactive’s World Championship Boxing Manager 2, where he performs the VO of nearly every male character in the game. He also worked on the Atari VCS’s BPM Boy.
