The battle between Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling continued this past week as three great matches made the hour of wrestling simply fly by.
Check out this week’s Ring of Honor Power Rankings who did more than hold their own in ROH’s War of the Worlds.
5: Adam Page: Thanks to help from Colby Corino, Page was able to take down Watanabe this week at War of the Worlds. He’s got work to do in terms of his physique and needs more time on the mic, but he definitely has that Dolph Ziggler look about him. With more help from Corino and BJ Whitmer, there’s no telling where Page can go.
4: Okada: He’s got a wonderful Drop Kick and the American fans absolutely adore him. Getting a big time push in the states from New Japan head booker Gedo, Okada has a ton of crossover appeal.
3: Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian: Say whatever you want about these guys, they are one of the best tag teams in the world and a duo that have even more potential if continually matched up with solid teams like Gedo and Okada. Ring generals and charismatic on the mic, the two continue to take on all comers from ROH and New Japan and even though their methods are often questionable, they usually get the win.
2: Adam Cole: Not many people can hang with AJ Styles the way that Cole did this last week on Ring of Honor- a testament to Cole’s pedigree as a singles star. On his way back up the ladder, expect Cole to play a much bigger role in the company moving forward.
1: AJ Styles: He took the best Adam Cole had to offer and still managed to get the win, proving why he may, in fact, be the most athletic and versatile World Heavyweight Champions in the sport today.
