A huge card, three “title†matches and the return of Dixie Carter made sure that this past week’s episode Impact Wrestling was a solid one. With Jeff Jarrett announcing that the TNA King of the Mountain title will be defended in Global Force Wrestling as well, it’ll be interesting to see how these two companies work with each other.
Matches:
Handicap Match: Bobby Roode and Austin Aries vs. Matt Hardy: Hardy hit the Twist of Fate but interference from Roode allowed Aries to get the win in a classic Dirty Heels matchup.
Drew Galloway vs. Abyss, Manik and Khoya: After The Revolution argued when Khoya went for the pinfall following his finisher, Galloway took advantage and got the win with the Tilt-a-Whirl Backbreaker and the Running Boot on Manik for the win.
Mr. Anderson vs. Bram: Anderson proved he could fight with Bram if he had to, but Bram took it to another level when he nailed Anderson with the step chair to get DQed. After the match, Bram beat on Anderson with his signature microphone.
Street Fight: Jessie Godderz vs. Robbie E.: Godderz was of course the aggressor, but Robbie was in in it throughout in spite of contact onslaught. After a Powerbomb on steel chairs, Godderz got the win with the Boston Crab as Robbie passed out from the pain, but never tapped.
TNA World Heavyweight Champion Ethan Carter III vs. Norv Fernum: A kick in the gut and the One Percenter was all Carter needed in this one.
TNA World Heavyweight Champion Ethan Carter III vs. Shark Boy: Although Shark Boy get in a few strikes, Carter again got the win with the One Percenter.
Tyrus vs. Lashley: A solid big man encounter that saw Lashley get the win following the Electric Chair Drop and the Spear.
Velvet Sky vs. Madison Rayne: While Rayne was busy being the heel, Sky got the win with The Stunner out of nowhere.
TNA World Heavyweight Champion Ethan Carter III vs. Kurt Angle: ECIII was literally destroyed in this match. Strikes, German Suplexes and the Ankle Lock, you name it, Angle hit it. When it appears that ECIII is almost finished, he knocked out the referee before tapping out to the Ankle Lock when another referee ran into the ring. Earl Hebner then ran down the ramp and announced Angle had won, but only via DQ, allowing Carter to retain the title.
