Between the short matches, a lackluster main event and zero surprises this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW was a weak one at best.
Check out this week’s RAW Power Rankings to see who managed to entertain the crowd in spite of all of the wackiness and filler.
Honorable Mention: Cesaro: The dude just went out and had a wonderful match with John Cena, nearly winning the United States title. A few months ago, Vince McMahon said Cesaro was missing something. Perhaps the leader of the Voodoo Kin Mafia needs glasses.
5: Paige: Week in and week out, Paige continues to prove she’s the best worker in the Divas division. Much like Daniel Bryan’s run to superstardom, eventually expect Paige to rise above the Bellas and any other obstacles that stand in her way to another Divas Championship.
4: Ryback: He’s the Intercontinental Champion and over the last few weeks has firmly established himself as both a fighting champion and a dominant one. In easily the biggest push of his career, Ryback, although still a one-trick powerhouse, is establishing himself as someone dependable in the mid-card.
3: The Prime Time Players: These guys have a ton of potential and with a limited amount of compelling tag teams in the WWE right now, they’re the best of a bad bunch.
2: Kevin Owens and John Cena: This is probably the best feud in all of wrestling right now. Different performers, and equally as polarizing personalities, Owens and Cena represent two different types of fans, who expect two entirely different things when they turn on a wrestling program. Expect their next match at Battleground to be another classic.
1: Seth Rollins: Don’t let the crappy opening segment to this past week’s RAW or the show’s main event fool you. Although he’s had to buy the affection of his Authority teammates, he’s still one of the best workers in the WWE and easily the best young heel in the sport today. With the added support of the reinvigorated Authority as well, Rollins has the support he needs to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship not only against Brock Lesnar, but anybody.
