The matches were awesome, but there was virtually no promo and no mention of any of the promotion’s big stars. As a result, this week’s episode of Ring of Honor TV was only for the hardcore grappling fan.
Check out this week’s Ring of Honor Power Rankings to see which members of the ROH mid-card rose to the occasion.
Honorable Mention: Silas Young: ROH’s version of Sheamus, Young has the look to be a solid mid-carder in another promotion, but for right now, he’s developing into something solid in ROH.
5: The Kingdom: Even with the drama between them and Adam Cole, the Kingdom still have the IWGP Tag Team titles (At least on the show. The team lost the belts to The Bullet Club earlier in the month. With the sexy Maria Kanellis by their side as well, the Kingdom, at least Matt Taven and Michael Bennett, will always get TV time on ROH.
4: Dalton Castle: He is certainly unique and has the potential to be a Tyler Breeze type in NXT and the WWE, over time. Add in impressive strength and a ton of a charisma and it’s only a matter of time until he goes to greener pastures. For now, his feud with Silas Young is an interesting one- a clear battle of opposites. A win for the youngster here could move him up the ladder enough to at least get him in the conversation for a shot at Jay Lethal’s TV title.
3: Moose: The fans love him, even if he’s a one-dimensional wrecking machine. His Spear finisher is far from devastating and he’s not even that imposing to look at. Simply put, in order for him to be more than a flash in the pan, he’s going to have to find something else besides intimidation to get over. His high-flying antics this week on ROH TV were definite proof that he has something more.
2: BJ Whitmer: He hasn’t wrestled in who knows how long, but his promo with Steve Corino was quintessential heel work and sets up what could be a fun match between the two grizzled veterans.
1: Bobby Fish: Redrawn is one of ROH’s best tag teams, but Fish proved this week he can get the job done all by himself.
