Impact Wrestling Coverage: GFW Takin’ Over

Invasions are nothing new in pro wrestling. Over the last 20 years, The NWA has invaded the WWE. WCW and ECW have invaded the WWE too. But GFW’s invasion of Impact Wrestling is different, especially considering Jeff Jarrett’s stakes in both companies in real life. Both fighting to maintain a hold in the industry, both Impact Wrestling and Global Force Wrestling are fighting for their lives every week.

With Jarrett’s proclamation that GFW is indeed beginning the takeover, the stars of Impact Wrestling came out in full force in order to defend their turf. With a new King of the Mountain Champion and new TNA Tag Team Champions, this week’s episode of Impact was energetic and wild.

With the war set to continue and Dixie Carter’s stake in the company against Jarrett’s, Impact Wrestling may have a few more tricks up its sleeves over the next few weeks.

Chris Mordetzky vs. Bobby Lashley: These guys went back and forth, but Lashley got the upper-hand, Countering the Full Nelson into a Running Powerslam and a second Spear. With the pin-fall imminent, the rest of the GFW roster came out to get the match thrown out. While the Wolves came to help out Lashley, Karen Jarrett had other plans for them.
