Hell’s Kitchen Season 15 Episode 4 Recap: Worst Red Team Ever?

The Red Team is finding new ways to show they are terrible in a new episode of “Hell’s Kitchen.” Maybe flying South with all the ducks in this episode would cool off their heads, or even a few pointers from Kris Jenner’s new cookbook might help.

The chefs were woken up and told to put on camouflage and red vests and get into the “Hell’s Kitchen” cars. The chefs thought they were probably going hunting. Ramsay even asked them “how many of you have ever been duck hunting?” Well, in this episode they went duck hunting. Only thing is, the ducks were rubber.

The day’s challenge was to have two chefs, one from each team, to get into boats, collect five ducks that had ingredients on them and then back in “Hell’s Kitchen” use those ingredients to make a duck dish. The funny part was Ramsay wanted Marino to put more ducks into the water but had no more. So he had a helicopter do the dumping. And, yes, “Ride of the Valkyries” did play when the helicopter arrived.

The pairings were Chad and Ariel, Joe and Manda, Eddie and Ashley, Frank and Jackie, Hassan and Meese, Dannie and Alan and Jared and Kristin

To help with the tasting was chef/owner of “Melisse” in Santa Monica, Josiah Citrin. Each dish was given a score between1-4 from each taster with a max score of 8. There were a lot of twos and threes from both teams. There were also a few ones (Alan and Hassan.)

The Blue won 32-30. They were rewarded with a day on a yacht. The Red had to cut up a lot of ducks. Once again, this portion of the show was rather boring, even with the Red being forced to eat duck feet sandwiches. This season is having trouble making the reward/punishment parts interesting. The only noteworthy part was at prep when Jackie titled the to-do list “the *bleep* list.” Sous chef Christina really didn’t like that. She even went so far as to say “find the cancer in your team and work around it.” Talk about extreme.

This dinner service had two chef’s tables. The Red had the star of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” Kris Jenner and the Blue had the “Queen of Burlesque” Dita Von Teese. Eddie was going nuts when he heard that. This dinner service was déjà vu all over again.

The Blue Team had a perfect service despite Eddie trying to keep his tongue in his mouth around Von Teese. Their service wasn’t done until they had to help the Red complete their service because…

…the Red Team was a total mess. Once again Ashley forgot to turn a burner on. How in the world does a professional chef do that? Meese then made an under seasoned risotto for Jenner. Jackie would then bring up a chicken that was still pink. She didn’t seem to care all that much, though. That is a major problem. Another problem was Meese once again messing up. This time, by just throwing mashed potatoes on a tray that looked so bad Ramsay said: “I’ve been inside prison, and they serve food better than this.” It was here that Ramsay called in the Blue Team to help the Red Team.

The Red chose Jackie and Meese with Meese getting the ax. Also, Hassan is now on the Red Team because he showed great leadership during dinner service.

This Red Team is the worst ever. There have been bad Red Teams before, but this one takes the cake. It is possible they can turn things around once Jackie and Ashley leave, but that remains to be seen. The reward/punishment portions are slowly starting to get interesting, but right now they’re boring.
