The Five Best Movie Trailers From Super Bowl 50

This year’s Super Bowl was not the most exciting as expected.

There were no dabs in the end zone and the Broncos suffocating defense, which allowed just one offensive touchdown, dominated the game. But despite this, the big game was not a disappointment – and that is because of the awesome movie trailers.

Super Bowl 50 brought us new looks at some of the summer’s biggest movies like “Captain America: Civil War,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows,” “X-Men: Apocalypse” and others.

Being that the Super Bowl is a competitive event, it is only right that we rank the five best trailers shown during the game.

5. “X-Men: Apocalypse”

One thing about Super Bowl trailers is brevity. With that being said, “X-Men: Apocalypse” just compresses its original trailer with brief glimpses of new footage and there is nothing wrong with that, but it does not hit the same notes quite like the first one.

4. “Captain America: Civil War”

For a movie that is easily one of the most anticipated of the year, the marketing materials have left a lot to be desired.

“Captain America: Civil War’s” spot does not improve on or expand on anything from the original trailer, but it does give us a money shot of both Captain America and Iron Man’s squads preparing to face off, which is enough to put it fourth on the list.

3. “10 Cloverfield Lane”

Like Von Miller coming off the edge, “10 Cloverfield Lane” is the pseudo-sequel nobody saw coming.

A film set in the universe of “Cloverfield,” “10 Cloverfield Lane’s” Super Bowl trailer give us more encompassing view of the story than the original trailer did and gives us a peek at a possible scene where the “Cloverfield” monster is revealed.

2. “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows”

Killing at the box office, but leaving fans and critics alike disappointed was “Out of the Shadows” predecessor and it is clear from this trailer that the filmmakers get it.

As the title suggest, this movie looks to bring the turtles out of the shadows with altered designs and characters like Krang that show that this time around Michael Bay and company are fully ready to embrace the Ninja Turtles mythos.

1. “Jason Bourne”

Bourne is back.

The only movie on this list where their Super Bowl trailer was it’s very first and boy did it make a great first impression. Returning in the title role, the trailer shows Matt Damon kicking ass as usual in a “world at war.” Although plot details are scarce, the trailer is effective in reintroducing the character of Bourne.
